A jjigae is simply a stew. The addition of a voluminous chestnut foam or pork belly-wrapped Pop Rocks actually subtracts from what is one of Korea's ultimate comfort foods. One of my favourite things to eat on a cold winter night is kimchi jjigae (김치 찌개, kimchi stew). My husband is quite pleased that I decided to start a food blog because it gives me more incentive to cook. =). The constant question of, "What should I make for dinner tonight?" is quite annoying for me.
